Oldham at the AMRC

Opportunities in_OG_Sept_LR On the 26th September 2012, Oldham Engineering exhibited at the "Opportunities within Global Subsea and Oil & Gas Projects" Conference at the AMRC in Sheffield.

The event was attended by over 125 people, with guest presenters from GE Oil and Gas and Subsea 7.

Brian Green (Subsea Consultant for Lamorna BDM) opened the conference by stressing the importance of Integrity Management and the selection of the right supply partners in today's Subsea industry.

He complimented Oldham Engineering in their role in manufacturing, what is understood to be the world's largest ball and taper mooring connector; 26,000 tonnes.

High Integrity Fabrication Shop

OEL high_integrity_fabrication Oldham's dedicated High Integrity fabrication shop is designed to process exotic materials, specifically stainless steels and super duplex material found in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The 5,000sqft High Integrity facility is in a dedicated building seperate from Oldhams main 30,000sqft carbon steel fabrication shop, thereby avoiding material cross contamination issues.

New CAM Software for Oldham

OEL CAM In addition to multiple seats of Solid Edge and AutoCad, Oldham Engineering has recently invested in the latest Delcam CAD/CAM software to help further support their off-line machine tool programming initiative.

The Powershape (CAD) and Powermill (CAM) Delcam modules of the software have helped Oldham optimise their machine tool cycle times, which ultimately enhances their customer service levels for subcontracted complex machined components.

"Following the development of the post processors, specifically for our new Soraluce Machine tool, the Delcam software is a great asset to us”, says Ken Wood, CAD/CAM engineer for Oldham.

New 4 Axis Machine Tool

OEL Mandrel_manufacture Oldham Engineering has recently installed a new 4 Axis CNC Floor Borer machine tool capable of machining components upto 10m long and over 3m high in one operation.

This exciting new Soraluce machine tool investment is set to transform Oldhams machining capacity.

Flying High at Farnborough

OEL Farnborough_low_res Between the 9th and 13th of July, Oldham Engineering exhibited at the Farnborough Airshow which was attended by tens of thousands of Engineers, Military personnel, Schools and Aviation enthusiats.

Oldham's brand is synonymous with quality and the exhibition provided the company the opportunity to interact with customers seeking medium-heavy engineered products such as test stands, dies, jigs and fixtures as well as precision machined assemblies.
